CSAC Weekend Away 2018: The book of Revelation
Join us as we spend time deepening our relationships with God and each other as we explore the book of Revelation.
What on Earth is Going On? Perspectives from Revelation
The last book of the Bible isn’t meant to confuse us, even though it often does. It’s meant to paint a graphic picture of what’s actually going on in the world. It’s written to give hope, perspective and courage in the face of conflict and chaos. As the sci-fi literature of the Bible, it displays in the most dynamic way the Lordship of Jesus Christ over all that is happening in our world, and the final triumph we, as his people, can look forward to. In this short series from Revelation we’ll think about Jesus and the church, Jesus and history, Jesus and Satan, and Jesus and eternity.
Our guest speaker this year is Murray Capill. Murray grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he studied history and music at University before coming to Australia for ministry training at the Reformed Theological College. He returned to New Zealand to pastor a church in Auckland for 10 years. In 2001, with his wife Wendy and their five children, he moved back to Australia. He is now the principal of RTC, a theological college that moved to the Melbourne CBD in 2017. Murray teaches preaching and other pastoral ministry subjects and is passionate about equipping the next generation of pastors and church leaders. Murray enjoys coffee, recreation and time with Wendy and their growing family with three children now married, one engaged and one grandchild.
